What actually changed

The current CCP Candidate Handbook presents the exam as seven domains, each scored individually and averaged into your overall result, with the question distribution published per domain. Result reporting follows the same structure, so your score report now tells you exactly which of the seven areas underperformed. The older four-section framing (basic skills / estimating / planning & scheduling / cost control) no longer describes how the exam is organised or reported. Why the reframing still matters for your prep

Because weighting is now explicit. Under the old presentation, candidates split time evenly across four "sections". Under the published distribution, Domain 1 carries 36% of all questions while Domains 5 and 6 together carry under 13%. Study plans, mock-exam review and revision priorities should be rebuilt around those numbers — that's the practical difference between materials "covering the syllabus" and materials organised around the blueprint.
